Gatwick named as best UK Airport for fourth time

Gatwick Airport has been named the UK's Best Airport at the Travel Bulletin Awards. It was the fourth time that the airport had received the award made by travel agents across the UK.

The Best UK Regional Airport was named as East Midlands, which beat off competition from Birmingham and Manchester.

East Midlands Airport also scooped the World's Leading Eco-Friendly Airport prize at the recent World Travel Awards, because of initiatives including aiming to be carbon neutral by 2012, installing environmentally friendly features such as ground heating pumps, and planning to install wind turbine
