John Lennon's glasses stolen from Liverpool Airport

A souvenir hunter has stolen John Lennon’s famous round glasses from his statue at Liverpool John Lennon Airport which stands on a plinth overlooking the check-in desks.

They formed part of a 7ft bronze of the ex-Beatle unveiled by Yoko Ono in March 2002, and were attached to the statue which was damaged when they were taken off. At the moment the statue is sporting a temporary pair until new ones are recast.
