Paul Gasacoigne lives on "pocket money"

Football legend Paul Gascoigne confided in staff at London Heathrow Airport that lives off pocket money from his mum so he doesn’t spend his cash on drink. She pays instalments of between £700 and £800 a time directly into his bank account because she fears he could self-destruct if left in control of his own finances.

Gascoigne, who has battled alcohol addiction for years, was banned from a flight to London last Sunday night after allegedly getting drunk following a charity football match in Malta. But he denied he was drunk, blaming a hip problem on arrival at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday evening.
