Bus numbers 307, 10 and 27 run from the airport to the city centre. Cost is £1.30 approximately for a one-way ticket. Numbers 307 and 10 terminate at the bus station where there are taxis. Aberdeen airport is quite small, there is only one exit and the taxi rank and bus stops are just outside.
For further information call Stagecoach Bluebird +44 (0)1224 212266 or First Bus +44 (0)1224 650065. Several local services are low floor buses, but long distance coaches tend not to be wheelchair accessible.
The service also operates via Inverness. From Inverness and Aberdeen you can connect to other local areas or travel further afield with National Express which operates from Guild Street Bus Station.
Buses at Aberdeen Airport
Aberdeen has a pretty good bus network, but it can be expensive to use (there are no multi-operator tickets). The city is served by two operators: First
Aberdeen and Stagecoach. The buses are modern and fairly comfortable with a few old ones still in operation (mainly on the number 6). If you are catching connecting buses, then you will probably have to change in the city centre as that is where the majority of services start or terminate.
First Services operate within the city boundary, and also serve the suburbs of Dyce, Cults, Culter and Kingswells. The network is branded The Overground and has a colour coded system with all the main lines having a designated colour while the minor ones are left grey on the map (in a similar style of the London Underground). This makes it fairly easy to find your way around. Services start around 5:00 and finish close to midnight with night services running at weekends at a flat single fare of £2.20.
Fares are based on a fare-stage system and cost from 70p for a short journey to £1.60 for a longer one. Day passes are available for £3 (£2.70 after 9:00). If you show a valid student ID you can obtain a discount on the day pass (£2).
Stagecoach run the services outside the city boundary. Locations closer to Aberdeen generally offer more frequent services (every 15 minutes to Westhill) than those further out. In addition the number 59 runs wholly within the city boundary . For single fares Stagecoach are generally a cheaper option than First, but are not so frequency and operate a more limited network.. Fares are based on destination but there is a day pass called the Explorer which costs £11 and allows you unlimited use of the entire Stagecoach network in the area (as far out as Montrose or Peterhead).
