Durham Tees Valley Airport General Information
Durham Tees Valley is a no smoking airport. There is an information desk as you enter the terminal building.
Lost property is controlled by Airport Security adjacent to the Out of Gauge Area.
Toilets are available in both the check in area and departures lounge. Both Gents and Ladies toilets are equipped for baby changing apart from the baggage reclaim area, where they are in the disabled toilet.
There are two centres in the airport operated by Serendipity which have video games and rides. They are in the main concourse and one in the departures lounge after security.
Money Changing Facilities at Durham Tees Valley Airport
There is an ATM cash dispenser next to Travelex on the main concourse.
Travelex have two outlets at the airport, one in the main check-in hall and one in departures near WH Smiths. You can also pre book your currency.
Cashpoint machines are located on the main concourse beside the Travelex counter and in the departure lounge.
Disabled Facilities at Durham Tees Valley Airport
If you are going to need a wheelchair at the airport then you must confirm this at the time of booking your flight.
The airport does have an Ambulift which takes you onto the aeroplane even if you are in a wheelchair. Again, remember to mention this when you book your flight/holiday.
Toilets with wheelchair access are available at the airport.
Internet Facilities at Durham Tees Valley Airport
There are a number of pay-as-you-go internet kiosks in the landside seating area near Cafe Oasis and in the main departure lounge seating area.
Durham Tees Valley Airport has recently introduced Wi-Fi access for its passengers and if you have a Wi-Fi (or Wireless LAN) enabled device such as a laptop or PDA, you can now access the Internet by visiting www.thecloud.net and selecting 'WiFi' followed by 'How to Connect'.
Medical Facilities at Durham Tees Valley Airport
Durham Tees Airport Fire and Rescue department are first aid trained and can give basic first aid treatment or will call for full medical assistance when necessary. Contact Airport Security or Airport Information for assistance.
Defibrillators are available airside and landside for use by trained personnel.
Pets Travelling from Durham Tees Valley Airport
Check with your airline that it is possible for your pet to fly from the airport. Also check that your pet has the correct vaccinations and passport as it will remove the need for them to spend six months in quarantine.
