There are several parking areas to choose from at the airport (more than 4,000 spaces), all pre-bookable apart from the short stay, which is really only for dropping off and picking up. Within this area there is now a zone where you can have 10 minutes free which is great for a quick drop off and pick up.
Short Stay Parking at East Midlands Airport
The short stay car park is only for parking up to 24 hours. You pay at a standard pay booth when you are ready to leave. This area is situated immediately in front of the airport terminal. Pre-booking is not available in the short-stay car park.

Medium and Long Stay Parking at East Midlands Airport
If your stay is going to be up to 4 days, then you need to book in the medium stay car park. There is a free shuttle bus service which runs regularly from the terminal and around the car park. However, it is within walking distance. To save money on this car park try pre booking on-line, it could save you a few pounds.
For parking of 5 days plus, you will need to book the long stay car park. You will need to use the shuttle bus for this parking as it is too far to walk to the terminal building. So make sure you allow enough time. Again try pre-booking on line to save money.

Disabled Parking at East Midlands Airport
If you are a disabled passenger and hold a disabled badge then you can park in the short stay car park and the charges for medium or long stay will apply, obviously depending on how long you need to park for.
There are some disabled parking spaces also available near to the terminal building with some assistance points alongside the spaces.
If you require assistance from a porter then contact the information desk 0044 (0) 1332 852 852 (there is a small charge for this). There are around 10 help points around this parking area so you can always have direct contact with the information desk.
Off Site Parking at East Midlands Airport
There are quite a few off-site parking companies within the area all offering a free shuttle service to and from the airport. The services are reliable, well run and organised. You will obviously pay less than parking at the airport but will have the inconvenience of having to travel a little bit farther to pick up your car or transfer to the departures.
If you take this option always make sure you add on extra time to your journey, as you will have to drive to the car park, check in and leave your keys, get on to the bus (sometimes waiting a few minutes for other people), then carry on with your journey to the airport.
Most of the companies will offer the standard budget parking, which is normally outside parking, a bit more expensive will be undercover parking and some offer a VIP meet and greet service. Some rates can be as little as 34 pounds for 8 days.
For a VIP service a driver will be waiting at the airport to meet you, will take your car to a secure compound, (sometimes they will valet the car). On your return your car will be waiting for you.
The off-site car parks should all have 24 hour security so check this at the time of booking.
Most of the companies have special deals so check on line and shop around to find the best deal for you. Obviously, booking in advance and on-line will get you the best possible price as the more in advance you book, the less you usually end up paying.
