When you book a Europcar hire car in the UK the price you are quoted includes (by law) the basic insurance cover if you are involved in an accident. This is called Third Party Cover. Most rental rates also include Vehicle Theft Cover and Vehicle Damage Cover.

With Vehicle Damage Cover (CDW) if a rental car is damaged this insurance will cover the cost of repairs. You will have to pay a fixed amount of £600 towards the repair costs which is known as the excess and applies regardless of whether or not the damage was your you fault. CDW is mandatory for drivers aged 23-25 or if you are paying by cheque or cash.
