Newcastle Airport useful information

Newcastle Airport is a no smoking building.

Toilets are available throughout the terminal building, including those for disabled/special assistance.

Areas for baby changing are available and located at the side of the toilets.  There are four in total, 2 before security and 2 after security and are well signposted.

Public/pay telephones are available throughout the terminal building.  Some have lowered handsets which are suitable for those who are in a wheelchair.

Children's Facilities at Newcastle Airport

There is a play area in the terminal building with soft toys etc and a plasma screen showing cartoons.  There are sweet and toy vending machines and also some rides.  This area is not supervised by staff so children need to be accompanied at all times.

Game Grid offers slot machines etc for the older/teenage children.

Disabled Facilities at Newcastle Airport

The airport is well serviced for those who require special assistance or disabled facilities.  All car parks have disabled parking bays.

The revolving doors into the terminal building can be slowed by pressing the button with the wheelchair icon.

Facilities have been made for those who require assistance with their wheelchair.  Go to the Airport Information Desk, between check in desk 32 and  WH SMith,  on the main concourse.  They will give you a form to complete and explain the process to you.

If you are going to need help boarding the aircraft  then you will need to organise this at the time of booking your flight or at least 48 hours before you travel.

Toilets that are wheelchair and disabled friendly are located throughout the airport and are equipped with alarm cords.  If you cannot see the sign for the toilets, contact the Information Desk for directions.

Some of the payphones in the terminal building are at lowered height which are suitable for use from a wheelchair.

All assistance dogs are allowed in the airport.

Internet Facilities at Newcastle Airport

There is an Internet Lounge in the departures lounge, which also offers wireless broadband if you have a laptop and it is Wi Fi compatible.

Both business/executive lounges also have internet facilities.

Medical Facilities at Newcastle Airport

There is no First Aid facility at Newcastle Airport, but if you need assistance contact the Information Desk in Main concourse between Check in desk 32 and WH Smith.
