Glasgow Prestwick Airport Trains

Glasgow Prestwick Airport TrainsGlasgow Prestwick Airport has its own railway station, connected to the terminal by a covered bridge over the road.  FirstScotRail. Trains run to and from Glasgow Central Station every half an hour (hourly on Sundays) and the journey takes 45 mins. Trains route via Troon, Kilmarnock, Barassie, Irvine, Kilwinning, Johnstone, Paisley Gilmour Street (with bus link to Glasgow Airport) & Glasgow Central Station. Not all trains stop at these stations. The fare to Glasgow is £5.70 adult single, £7.35 cheap day return.

Gimour Street Railway StationPublic transport connections to Glasgow Airport are available by rail via Paisley Gilmour Street station. Trains depart every half hour and journey time to Paisley is 30-35 minutes. A frequent bus connection operates from Old Sneddon Street (which is adjacent to Gilmour Street station), to Glasgow Airport with a journey time of less than 10 minutes.

All  passengers travelling to and from the airport will receive 50% discount on the standard fare. To qualify for the discount passengers have to show their air ticket or printed e-ticket. You may also be asked to show photo ID. Tickets from the airport must be bought on board the train. In addition for the first six months of any new air route passengers travelling on that route are entitled to FREE rail travel to or from Prestwick Airport on the day of flying. Vouchers for free travel must be obtained by showing an air ticket or printed e-ticket at the airport information desk or a FirstScotRail booking office. Free vouchers cannot be obtained on board the train.
